<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photonic crystal optical functional element for realizing a demultiplexer providing high demultiplexing efficiency by facilitating its production. <P>SOLUTION: The photonic crystal optical functional element has two line defect optical waveguides 11 inside the photonic crystal 10 and a point defect type ring optical resonator 12 for guiding the light in a ring shape, in the region between the two line-defect optical waveguides, and constitutes the demultiplexer, in which the light is taken out from one line defect optical waveguide 11 to the other line defect optical waveguide 11, for the wavelength of light resonating in the ring optical resonator 12. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
