PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber compound trolley wire capable of preventing damages of an optical fiber core by burrs in a storage groove, and reducing the external force such as stresses and distortion exerted in the optical fiber core, and excellent in weather resistance. SOLUTION: In the optical fiber compound trolley wire, an optical fiber for detecting wear is stored at the wear limit position in a trolley wire body 7. An optical fiber unit 2 having a metal pipe 4 to store an optical fiber core 3 and a jelly 5 filled in the metal pipe 4 is stored at the wear limit position in the trolley wire body 7 along the longitudinal direction of the trolley wire body 7. Since the optical fiber core 3 is inserted in the metal pipe 4 with the jelly 5 interposed therebetween, the optical fiber core 3 is protected without damage, and the external force such as stresses and distortion exerted in the optical fiber core 3 when the trolley wire 1 is expanded or coiled around a drum can be reduced. Further, the jelly 5 is filled in the metal pipe 4, and reliably protects the optical fiber core 3 from the moisture without being washed away with water drops in a rainy condition, and elastically supports the optical fiber 3 to suppress the movement in the longitudinal direction.
