PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a welding apparatus by which high quality continuous welding is applied to the entire circumference at the root of the stud in a short period of time. SOLUTION: The stud TIG welding apparatus is provided with a center guide 6 which is rotatably mounted on the upper part of a stud 9 fixed on a workpiece 13, a post 5 which is attached to the center guide 6 and which has a TIG torch 7 fixed to it, and a rotating mechanism 1 which rotates the post 5 and which is fixed at the tip end of a robot 10. In addition, between the center guide 6 and the rotating mechanism 1, a floating mechanism 2 is provided which absorbs positional deviation in the circumferential and vertical directions. In the post 5, there are installed a vertical adjuster 3 and a horizontal adjuster 4 for adjusting the TIG torch 7 in the vertical direction and the horizontal direction respectively.
