Disclosed is a paper cup which exhibits an appropriate barrier performance without deteriorating properties of a content therein. In the bonded portion of a side wall of this paper cup, one end portion of a side wall paper sheet located inner side of the cup has such a structure wherein the end face of a paper base layer is covered with a barrier layer while preventing both end faces of the paper base layer and barrier layer from being exposed to the outside. An end portion (3) of a side wall paper sheet (2) which is at the inner side of a side wall bonded portion (4) of a paper cup has a paper base-absent portion (18) which extends from a circular bottom (10) to an upper rim (12). In the paper base-absent portion (18), a paper base layer-removed portion (19) wherein the paper base is die-cut is covered with a barrier layer (15), and a barrier layer-removed portion (20) which is located inner side of the paper base layer-removed portion (19) and wherein the barrier layer (15) is die-cut is covered with a thermoplastic resin layer (14). The end face of the end portion (3) wherein the paper base-absent portion (18) is located is so formed that a paper base layer (16) and the barrier layer (15) are not exposed to the outside, and the end face of the paper base layer-removed portion (19) in the paper base-absent portion (18) is covered with the barrier layer (15).
