A hair treatment applicator (10) for applying a hair treatment product composition to hair of a user by passing the applicator through the hair in a predetermined direction, the applicator comprising a handle (20); and a head (50) comprising a body and a retaining structure (115), the head being connected to said handle, said body having a base (100) and the retaining structure comprising a pair of opposed blades (120) extending downwardly fro m the base and proximate the edge of the base, the pair of opposed blades (120 ) being disposed coincident with the direction of use, said opposed blades defining a retaining volume (117) adapted to receive the hair treatment product composition.
