<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information recording device by which high density can be attained by multi-valued recording and the compatibility of a phase change type information recording medium with a ROM disk can be secured. <P>SOLUTION: Timing of rise from a laser power level P2 to a laser power level P3 is made coincident with the timing of the rise of a multi-valued modulation signal S1 to shift an edge position of a recording mark corresponding to the multi-valued modulation signal S1. Thereby, the modulation multi-valued recording of an SCIPER system can be realized in phase change recording, high density can be attained by the multi-valued recording, and compatibility of the phase change type information recording medium with the ROM disk can be secured. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
