<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a file server apparatus that enables miniaturization and cost reduction. <P>SOLUTION: The file server apparatus comprises a memory card IF 21 for exchanging data with an SD memory card 30, an HDD 22 for storing document data, a nonvolatile memory 23 for storing a data acquisition ID code, an engine 24 for realizing a printer function, a copier function, a facsimile function and the like, a network IF 25 for exchanging data with a network 40, and a CPU 26 for controlling the overall operation of the apparatus.
