<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermally regenerative exhaust emission control device requiring less power consumption without exhausting harmful gas into the air. <P>SOLUTION: An electric heater 9 for heating a filter body 7 is mounted on the porous filter body 7 through which exhaust gas 2 passes for trapping particulates in the exhaust gas 2, to construct a thermally regenerative particulate filter 10. The thermally regenerative particulate filter 10 is stored in filter cases 11, 12 on the way of an exhaust pipe 3. Oxidation catalysts 13, 14 are arranged in proximity to the front and rear positions of the thermally regenerative particulate filter 10 in the filter cases 11, 12 for giving heat retaining effects to the thermally regenerative particulate filter 10. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
