PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a socket of a waterproof structure by using an existing non-waterproof socket. SOLUTION: A waterproof case 11 for housing a non-waterproof small socket 12 having a lamp holder to be fitted with a base of a fluorescent lamp is provided. The lamp holder side and the electric wire insertion side of the non-waterproof small socket 12 are opened, and the waterproof case 11 has a lamp holder side opening part 16 and an electric wire insertion part side opening part 17. A waterproof cap 20 to be screwed to the waterproof case 11 and clamping the fluorescent lamp, is provided at the lamp holder side aperture 16 of the waterproof case 11. Further, at the electric wire insertion side aperture 16 of the waterproof case 11, a socket depressing member 21 which has a nearly L-shaped support rib for supporting the top part and the front side of the non-waterproof small socket 12 housed in the waterproof case 11 is provided.
