PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a holder for dishes or the like with which stacked plates are conveyed and horizontally placed while being surely held in the stacked shape. SOLUTION: For the holder for the dishes or the like, an inner frame for holding the dishes or the like which is made of a metal wire coated with heat resistant synthetic resin or of a heat resistant material, is interpolated and fixed inside a U-shaped outer frame composed of the heat resistant material. The inner frame restrains the dishes or the like in a horizontal direction and does not restrain them in a vertical direction, and a blocking means for limiting the upward movement of the dishes or the like is attached to the upper end part of the inner frame.
