摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of eliminating polarization dependence of a measured light signal in optical measuring equipment such as an optical sampling oscilloscope, and a relatively simple constitution of device therefor. SOLUTION: A light signal waveform measuring method comprises a the first process for separating different polarization components of an input light signal to be brought into light signals having a common polarization component, and for time-dividing those to be multiplexed, and a second process for measuring the multiplexed light signal. The first process includes a process for polarization-separating the input light signal to be divided into the first and second components orthogonally crossing each other, a process for changing a polarization condition in one of the first and second components to get in common to a polarization condition in the other, and a process for time-dividing one of the first and second components of which the polarization conditions get common with respect to a common output, so as to be output selectively.
