A plasma display panel is provided to prevent a cross-talk and achieve improved discharge characteristics by adjusting the shape of cross section of each of barrier ribs and minimizing the amount of the phosphor layers remaining on barrier ribs. A plasma display panel comprises a first substrate(20) and a second substrate(14) opposed with each other; first electrodes(17) formed on the first substrate; second electrodes(12) formed on the second substrate such that the second electrodes are orthogonal to the first electrodes; barrier ribs(11) disposed in the space formed between the first substrate and the second substrate so as to define a plurality of discharge cells; and phosphor layers formed in the discharge cells. The barrier ribs include first barrier ribs(111) arranged in parallel with each other, and second barrier ribs(112) arranged in parallel with each other and orthogonally to the first barrier ribs. The width of the top of the cross section of each of the first barrier ribs is smaller than the width of the top of the cross section of each of the second barrier ribs, in the space between adjacent discharge cells where the same phosphor layer is deposited.
