<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for easily initializing an electric/electronic device having a suspension (resume) function, and to prevent a long-term discharge of a backup power supply. <P>SOLUTION: The device for initializing an electric/electronic device has a control microcomputer 4 which cooperates with a volatile memory 3 backed up by the output of a backup power supply 8 and which has a suspension (resume) function while operating in response to the output of an operating power supply 1. The device is controlled by the microcomputer 4. During a period from when the output voltage of the power supply 1 is shut off until the output voltage reaches a minimum voltage at which the microcomputer 4 can be operated, a switch circuit 7 for turning the output of the power supply 8 on and off is controlled to be an off state by an output from the microcomputer 4. When the output voltage of the operating power supply 1 reaches the maximum voltage or less at which the microcomputer 4 can be operated, the microcomputer 4 is reset to initialize the electric/electronic device. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
