PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molecular dispersion type organic EL element and organic EL display capable of achieving, all heat resistance, a service life and luminous efficiency at high levels. SOLUTION: Between two electrodes 2 and 4 arranged opposite to each other in this organic EL element 9, an organic layer 3 containing a copolymer comprising a first monomer having one polymerizing functional group, and a second monomer having two or more polymerizing functional groups; and a luminescent dopant is formed.
