PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a liquid crystal display element by which a spacer for securely holding a gap between a couple of substrates can easily be manufactured. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the liquid crystal display element is provided for manufacturing a liquid crystal display element having a couple of substrates 1 arranged across a fixed gap, the method including a procedure for arranging liquid resin material 2 between the surface of at least one of the substrate 1 and a stamper 4 having a plurality of recessed parts 3 formed on the surface opposite to the surface of the substrate 1 and forming a plurality of projections 7 on, for example, an ultraviolet-ray setting type liquid resin material by the recessed parts 3 and a procedure for setting the resin material 2 formed with the projections 7, for example, with ultraviolet rays.
