PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of an image defect due to the sneak through of toner from an elastic blade, the occurrence of burrs of the blade and the occurrence of flaws on the surface of a photoreceptor due to the foreign matter held between the photoreceptor and the blade in an image forming method of using the photoreceptor containing a polymer prepared by polymerizing a compound having two or more unsaturated polymerizable functional groups within the same molecule in the surface layer of the photoreceptor and cleaning the surface of the photoreceptor by causing the blade to abut on the photoreceptor to remove the transfer residual from the surface of the photoreceptor. SOLUTION: The image forming method comprises incorporating the polymer prepared by polymerizing the compound having the two or more unsaturated polymerizable functional groups within the same molecule in the surface layer of the photoreceptor, and causing the elastic blade to abut on the contact surface with the photoreceptor via the toner interposed therebetween, wherein the value C of the deviation of the dynamic friction force of the elastic blade when the photoreceptor is rotated is 10x9.8 mN≤C≤45x9.8 mN.
