PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image-formation optical system suitable as the one for a monitor camera and using a hyperboloidal mirror forming the image of an object in a wide range as a video excellent in resolution. SOLUTION: The image-formation optical system 100 having the hyperboloidal mirror 101M and a lens part 100R composed of a plurality of lenses is constituted to satisfy -0.1≤ΣP<SB>L</SB>≤0.01 and -1≤(ΣIII<SB>L</SB>+ΣP<SB>L</SB>)/P<SB>M</SB>≤0 when an aberration coefficient concerning the astigmatism of the lens part 100R isΣIII<SB>L</SB>, an aberration coefficient concerning the Petzval of the lens part 100R isΣP<SB>L</SB>, and an aberration coefficient concerning the Petzval of the mirror 101M is P<SB>M</SB>.
