PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for making a pocket-having cylindrical knitted fabric, by which the pocket-having knitted fabric can be made with a flat knitting machine without sewing the pocket portions on the cylindrical main knitted fabric portion. SOLUTION: This method for making the pocket-having cylindrical knitted fabric is characterized by knitting the cylindrical main knitted fabric portion and bag-like pocket portions by the use of a flat knitting machine having at least one pair of front and rear needle beds between which knit stitches can be transferred, forming openings extended in the longitudinal direction (wale direction) in the main knitted fabric portion, transferring the stitches to join the openings of the main knitted fabric portion to the openings of the pocket portions, thereby obtaining the side pocket-having main knitted fabric portion whose pocket-inserting openings are extended in the longitudinal direction, and further pushing the pocket portions into the main knitted fabric portion, after the knitting of the knitted fabric is finished.
