PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer (EVOH) resin composition with less odor development and excellent interlayer bonding, and a multilayered structure containing the same, and to provide a manufacturing process with consideration on environment without discharging a carboxylic acid such as acetic acid into the ambient environment when the composition is manufactured and molded. SOLUTION: This composition is manufactured by bringing the EVOH resin into contact with an aqueous solution containing at least one additive selected from the group consisting of an alkali metal salt (A) and a boron compound (B), and also a carbon dioxide gas, before adding an alkaline earth metal salt (E). In a preferred embodiment, the multilayered structure composed of the composition and another thermoplastic resin, especially a thermoplastic polyurethane resin, is provided.
