A vector network analyzer calibration unit has four calibration circuits (1-4) comprising strip line transmission lines (11-1, -2, -31, -4) with reciprocal obstacle networks (Q1-3) comprising dielectric, isotropic ally magnetic or metallic conducting bodies that are measured in sequence to allow solution of the equations for the analyzer corrections. Independent claims are included for procedures using the equipment.
