PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanical sound processor for storing a mechanical sound generated in electronic equipment, such as a copying machine or a facsimile equipment as knowledge, and for early discovering the cause of the failure of the electronic equipment based on this. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a detecting part 2 for detecting (extracting) an acoustic signal (a voice or a mechanical sound) from an input sound inputted from a voice inputting part 1, a mechanical sound dictionary 3 to be used for deciding whether or not the mechanical sound is an abnormal sound or a normal sound, a deciding part 4 for deciding whether or not the acoustic sound detected by the detecting part 2 is due to the mechanical sound, and for deciding whether or not the mechanical sound is an abnormal sound or a normal sound by using the mechanical sound dictionary 3, when it is judged that the acoustic signal is due to the mechanical sound, a mechanical sound storing part 5 for registering (storing) the mechanical sound, a registering part 6 for registering (storing) the mechanical sound in the mechanical sound storing part 5, and a reproducing part 7 for reproducing the mechanical sound registered (stored) in the mechanical sound storing part 5. |
