A generator generates motion information on the pixels contained in the previous field and next field of the interpolation pixel, at the same position as the interpolation pixel, from the interlaced video information stored in memory. A determination unit determines the motion information on the interpolation pixels, from the generated motion information. An independent claim is also included for video information processing method.
