An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display), an apparatus and a method for driving the LCD are provided to be adapted for implementing moving picture by improving response speed of liquid crystal. A timing control part(400) downs a peak of full-contrast that corresponds to an inputted original contrast signal and outputs a correction contrast signal in view of a downed current contrast signal and a previous contrast signal. A gate driver(200) outputs gate signals successively. A data driver(300) outputs a data voltage corresponding to the correction contrast signal. A liquid crystal panel(100) includes a gate line for transmitting the gate signals, a data line for transmitting a data signal and a switching element formed between the gate line and the data line.
