METHOD FOR PROVIDING BROADCAST AND MULTICAST SERVICE IN MOBILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

A broadcast/multicast service providing method of a mobile communication system is provided to minimize delay of establishing a bearer and data loss generated when a mobile terminal is moved to a different cell, save network resources, and enhance receive performance through soft combining. A CN(Core Network) transfers service quality information with respect to an MBMS(Multimedia Broadcast/Multicast Service)(S10). A UTRAN(UMTS Terrestrial Radio Access Network) RRC(Radio Resource Control) transfers content of a determined reference set type to a UTRAN L1/L2 protocol entity to allow an RB(Radio Bearer) to be established(S11). The UTRAN RRC transfers the determined reference set type to a UE RRC(S13). The UE RRC obtains the content of the reference set type and transfers RB establishment information included in the obtained content to a UE L1/L2 protocol entity(S14). The UTRAN L1/L2 protocol entity transfers data of the MBMS to a UE by using the established RB(S15).
