An apparatus and a method for providing power of a CID phone are provided to solve the problem that a user must periodically replace a battery and purchase a high-priced adapter in order to drive an LCD and a memory. A solar battery(10) receives light and converts it into an electrical signal. A charging unit(14) charges the electrical signal provided from the solar battery(10). A display unit(16) performs a display function. A storage unit(18) stores data. A controller(24) displays a CID on the display unit(16) by using the electrical signal of the solar battery(10) and stores the CID in the storage unit(18) during a day standby time, and displays a CID on the display unit(16) and stores it in the storage unit(18) by using the electrical signal charged in the charging unit(14) during a night standby time. |
