An operating method for a navigation system using a mobile phone is provided to automatically start the road guide without resetting the path and road guide information when the driver starts the engine again based on storing the preset path and road guide information before the driver does not arrive in the destination. If a driver starts an engine of a car, it is judged whether driving information is stored(S100). Stored driving information is read and set up(S110,S140,S150,S160). It is judged whether the car arrives in a destination(S170). If the engine is stopped when the car does not arrive in the destination, driving information is stored(S180,S190). If the car arrives in the destination, stored information is initialized(S200).
