A device for sensing storage amount of a grain storehouse and a control method thereof are provided to maintain stable action even during irregular movement of contents without being influenced by a mechanical noise by sensing a level via infrared signals and to reduce the manufacturing cost. A device for sensing storage amount of a grain storehouse comprises a control part(110) successively outputting frequency for sensing the amount of grain stored in a storage chamber; plural infrared ray-transmitting parts(120) transmitting an infrared wavelength according to the frequency successively output from the control part and setting up a level position; plural current-limiting resistors(R1~R10) limiting currents of the infrared ray-transmitting parts and adjusting sensitivity according to a level; and one infrared ray-receiving part(140) receiving the infrared wavelength transmitted from the infrared ray-transmitting parts and detecting the level position.
