A roadside crash barrier has a series of two-part upright sheet metal posts (1) linked by a horizontal deflection plank (5, 26). Each post consists of a first upright member (2) terminating at the base in an L-shaped flange (10) with anchorage bolts (12). The post top is supported by a second angled member (3) terminating at the base in an L-shaped flange with anchorage bolts (12).
