The fan, especially for a motor vehicle's air conditioning system, has an impeller (3) installed in a two-part casing (2) comprising a base component (5) and a cover (6) fitted to it. The base component encompasses the impeller on a first end face and over a part of the circumferential surface, and the cover encompasses the impeller on the opposite end face and over the remainder of the circumferential surface. The part (7) of the cover which encompasses the impeller over a part of the circumferential surface is hinged relative to the remaining part of the cover.
