STERILE CONTAINER

The sterile container, especially for surgical instruments and materials, has a wall and base to define the holding zone. A lid cover to close the container has a gas exchange opening with a sterile filter in a holder. The sterile filter (52) and the filter holder (14) form a filter unit (10) mounted at the lid cover (12). The sterile filter is in a release fitting on a carrier at its holder, to be held in place and removed for exchange. The filter is contained between the two parts of the carrier, which are bonded together by an adhesive, clamping or welding. The filter is covered by a shrouding (18), held in place by a bayonet fitting (86).
