摘要 A device and a method for determining direction of an input shaft and pressing an O-ring are provided to cut down the cost and to improve production efficiency in developing an automatization device for inserting the O-ring and a stop ring to the input shaft. A device for determining direction of an input shaft(1) and pressing an O-ring is composed of a pin(200) mounted at a frame(101) to move vertically, wherein the input shaft is loaded on an upside of the pin; a motor(203) for rotating the pin by a belt(202); a sensor installed on a lateral side corresponding to a back side width portion of the input shaft loaded on the pin by a sensor bracket to detect an outer peripheral surface of the back side width of the rotary input shaft and to primarily determine the direction by stopping the rotation of the input shaft; an upper jaw(404) mounted at an upper side of a holder(403) of which the width is regulated horizontally by a gripper cylinder installed by the bracket; and a lower jaw(405) disposed at a lower side of the holder and formed in a pair together with the upper jaw to secondarily determine the direction by gripping and clamping both sides of a back side width of the back side width portion of the input shaft. The upper jaw grips and presses the O-ring inserted into an O-ring groove of the input shaft to prevent the O-ring from being separated.
