A color cathode ray tube is provided to reduce the weight of the cathode ray tube and costs by adjusting the volume ratio between the corner spring welded with a base plate and the corner spring which is not welded with a base plate such that the total weight of the corner spring is reduced. A color cathode ray tube comprises a funnel; a panel coupled with the funnel, wherein the panel has a phosphor screen; an electron gun mounted in the funnel such that the electron gun emits electron beams to the phosphor screen; a shadow mask for discriminating colors of electron beams emitted from the electron gun; a frame for supporting the shadow mask; and a corner spring coupled to stud pins arranged at four corners of the panel so as to elastically support the frame to the panel. A base plate is welded to the corner spring which is lastly coupled to the stud pin so as to compensate for a deviation of position during coupling of the corner spring and the stud pin. The formula 0.929<=Va/Vb<=1.416 is satisfied, wherein Vb is the volume of the corner spring welded with the base plate and Va is the volume of the corner spring which is not welded with the base plate.
