An apparatus and a method for displaying remaining battery capacity of a mobile terminal are provided to allow a user to estimate when a battery is to be changed or charged by separately displaying a call waiting time and a call time according to a remaining battery voltage. A memory unit(130) stores a call waiting time table according to a remaining voltage of a battery by measuring a consumed current of the battery per time in a call waiting state and a paging state, and a call time table according to a remaining voltage of the battery by measuring a consumed current of the battery per time in a call state. A voltage measuring unit(153) measures the remaining voltage of the battery. A controller(110) receives the battery voltage from the voltage measuring unit(153) at a preset period, accumulates the battery voltage by certain number of times, and averages them, converts the averaged battery voltage into each index of the tables, and stores them, and outputs the call waiting time and call time information of the tables corresponding to the index when the battery information is requested to be displayed. A display unit(140) displays the call waiting time and call time information.
