PLASMA DISPLAY PANEL AND PLASMA DISPLAY DEVICE

A plasma display panel and a plasma display device are provided to degrade luminous characteristics of the plasma display panel and achieve improved quality of image by reducing wiring resistance of a discharge electrode and light resistance. A first substrate and a second substrate are opposed with each other, such that a discharge gas space is formed between the first substrate and the second substrate. A first electrode group including a plurality of scan electrodes(5) and a plurality of sustain electrodes(6) is formed on the surface of the first substrate opposed to the second substrate. The scan electrodes and the sustain electrodes are arranged in parallel with each other along a first direction and opposed with each other through a discharge gap(8). A second electrode group including a plurality of data electrodes is disposed on the surface of the second substrate opposed to the first substrate along a second direction orthogonal to the first direction. A discharge cell(17) is formed on an intersecting point between the first electrode group and the second electrode group. Each of the scan electrodes and each of the sustain electrodes are constituted by a transparent conductive portion(5A) and a low resistance conductive portion(5B) having a thin film or a thick film containing a metal as a main component. The low resistance conductive portion includes two regions having different film thicknesses in the discharge cell.
