A control valve for a variable capacity type compressor is provided to maintain smooth flowing in the valve by preventing deposits from being generated in a coolant through suppressing inflow of the fluid into a gliding contact area of a large diameter part having a surface extended toward a throat part in a predetermined region and to easily manufacture and strengthen the valve. A control valve for a variable capacity type compressor comprises a valve body(180); a solenoid excitation unit; and a pressure reducing unit having a pressure sensor. In the valve, a large diameter part(182a) and a throat part(182) are adjacently installed through a step part. A guide hole is formed on the valve body to guide a circumferential wall of the large diameter part and to be glidingly moved. The step part is composed of one side(a flat side, 183) extended toward the throat part from the circumferential wall of the large diameter part in a predetermined region to suppress inflow of fluid into the circumferential wall of the large diameter part. The flat side suppressing the fluid inflow to the circumferential wall is formed on the step part, vertically with the moving direction of the valve. A taper part(184) is formed on the whole area of the step part except the flat side. At least one groove(185) is formed on the circumferential wall, especially near the step part, of the large diameter part.
