SEPARATOR MEMBRANE FOR CAPACITIVE DEIONIZATION OF WASTE WATER OR SALTWATER, AND METHOD FOR DEIONIZATION OF WASTE WATER OR SALTWATER BY USING THE SEPARATOR MEMBRANE

Provided are a separation membrane for capacitive deionization(CDI) of waste water or salt water and a CDI process subjected to waste water or salt water to prevent electric short and ensure homogeneous channeling to smoothly flow waste liquid and sufficient reaction between electrodes and the waste liquid. The CDI membrane is composed of a material selected from polycarbonate, teflon, acryl and polychloro trifluoroethylene and comprises a number of channels(7) in groove form having depth of 1-2mm and an inflow port(5) connected to one side and a drainage(6) connected to the other side. The membrane has a thickness ranging from 2-5mm. The channels are crossed in all directions by one another and space by 1-3mm intervals. Nine CDI membranes having an area of 6cm x 6cm, a thickness of 3mm and 1mm depth are equipped to an apparatus for treatment of waste water comprising together a carbon electrode and a current collector.
