A method and a device for measuring a pupil distance are provided to dispose a photographing device in a position separated at certain intervals from a member attached to glasses that a measured person puts on, when measuring a pupil distance, thereby easily and stably measuring the pupil distance at low cost. A photographing device is disposed in a position separated at certain intervals from a member having two indexes(14a,14b) while being attached to glasses(10) that a measured person puts on. While the measured person observes a staring point around the photographing device, the measured person is photographed. An apparent distance between right/left pupils(20a,21a) is measured. A pupil distance(PD) is obtained according to an equation such as PD=[(A+B)xCxE]/(AxD)....(1), here "A" is a distance between the member and the photographing device, "B" is a distance between rotational centers of eyeballs(20,21) and the member, "C" refers to a substantial distance between the indexes(14a,14b), "D" refers to an apparent distance between the indexes(14a,14b), and "E" refers to an apparent distance between the pupils(20a,21a).
