A system for automatically recoding and deleting image data is provided to prevent a lack of memory capacity caused by long-time recording of the image data. N files, each spaced apart each other are automatically created to store image data detected for a constant time in each of the files, respectively. If the image data requiring time equal to or greater than the total time required for storing the image data in the N files is detected, the image data stored in a first file among the N files is automatically deleted and simultaneously the image data stored in a second file is transferred into the first file. By repeating the transferring procedure, the image data stored in an n-th file is transferred into an (n-1)th file. Newly added image data is continually stored in the n-th file.
