A vacuum pump is provided to always generate a stable vacuum pressure regardless of operating an alternator by driving a vacuum pump through motive power of an engine, thereby securing braking stability of a vehicle. A housing is mounted at a predetermined part of an engine(E) through a plurality of bolts(20), having an air path discharging a vacuum pressure toward a brake booster, an oil supply path connected with the engine, and an oil discharge path. A rotary shaft is rotatively installed at a position eccentric to one side regarding to the center of the housing, directly connected with one gear receiving motive power through a timing belt or timing chain. A rotor has a plurality of vane mounting grooves radially formed to transmit motive power to the rotary shaft placed in the housing. A plurality of vanes are installed movably in association with the vane mounting grooves.
