A self-light emitting type display device is provided to drive efficiently light emitting elements by controlling an operating voltage of a power supply circuit on the basis of a forward voltage of each light emitting element. An active drive type light emitting display device having a plurality of light emitting display pixels arranged in intersections between a plurality of data lines and a plurality of scan lines includes light emitting elements(2) and driving TFTs for providing driving current to the light emitting elements(2). Forward voltages of the light emitting elements(2) for forming pixels are detected to obtain a maximum value of the forward voltages of each light emitting element(2).
