An antenna apparatus of a portable terminal is provided to rotate an antenna on a terminal body to stably maintain the antenna in a required horizontal/vertical position, thereby improving gain features of the antenna, consequently signals can be transceived between a portable terminal and a base station in better way. A terminal(10) is rotatively hinge-coupled with a lower-sided hinge coupling portion(5a) of an antenna(5) with a hinge pin(11). One pair of hooking projections(5c) are formed in the same line to be opposed to each other on both sides of an axial hole(5b) on one inner side of the lower-sided hinge coupling portion(5a). One pair of guide grooves(10c) for guiding rotations of the one pair of the hooking projections(5c) are formed around an axial hole(10b) of the terminal(10). Hooking portions(10d) for maintaining the hooking projections(5c) at predetermined angle are formed in sections of the guiding grooves(10c).
