PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an opening and closing device which can open or close without constraining a free rotational motion of a lid by a change, etc. of an own weight or an acceleration of the lid, a change of a frictional force of a rotary shaft, etc. when the lid of an information terminal unit is opened or closed, for example, an opening and closing endurance test is performed. SOLUTION: The opening and closing device opens and closes the lid 1b of the information terminal unit 1 to be tested having the openable lid 1b. The opening and closing device includes a first arm 7 provided rotatably and performing a closing operation by pressing down the lid 1b, and a second arm 9 provided rotatably and performing an opening operation by raising the lid 1b in such a manner that the first arm 7 and the second arm 9 are cooperatively rotated, and a circumferential speed of a distal end of the first arm 7 at the rotating time is different from that of the distal end of the second arm 9.
