PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for increasing grinding speed of a rail for engaging a rail cover covering an upper face of the rail of a linear guide device. SOLUTION: This linear guide device is provided with the rail having a track channel on a side face, the rail cover covering the upper face of the rail, a saddle-like slider moving linearly on the rail, and a rolling body circulating in a connection path provided in the slider and rolling on an upper part track face and a lower part track face of the rail. An engaging face which is a slope enlarged in the direction of width of the rail from the upper part track face is formed in an upper part of the side faces on both sides of the rail, and the rail cover is engaged with the engaging face to simplify a side face shape of the rail.
