PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply perform the formation of a pattern on the surface of a solid cosmetic material to have a good appearance at a low cost. SOLUTION: A mold 6 formed of an elastic body has a press surface 6a on which an uneven pattern is curved. The powdery cosmetic material 4b is adhered to the convex part which is a part of the press surface 6a curved in the uneven pattern. The pattern is transcribed to the surface of a solid cosmetic material 4a by bringing the press surface 6a partly adhered with the powdery cosmetic material 4b to contact the solid cosmetic material 4a and pressing the mold 6 to the solid cosmetic material 4a.
