USED OIL REGENERATION METHOD INVOLVING STRIPPING AND DISTILLATION

The invention relates to a method for the regeneration of used oils of petroleum origin. The inventive method comprises the following steps: (a) stripping of the used mineral oil, in which said oil is chemically treated with an aqueous solution comprising a chemical reagent containing anions which form salts that are poorly soluble with the metals of the oil, followed by separation of the stripped oil; (b) distillation of the stripped oil obtained in step (a) at atmospheric pressure and in the presence of alkaline hydroxides; and (c) distillation of the liquid residue obtained during the atmospheric distillation in step (b) under a vacuum and in the presence of alkaline hydroxides in order to obtain lubricant bases.
