Material for sound insulation of tunnel walls has a granulated texture and an adhesive binding the separate, sound-absorbent grains usually made of mineral matter such as water glass which can withstand high temperatures. The proportion of adhesive used is calculated to leave cavities free of adhesive between the grains. The low proportion of adhesive used, say 10 to 20 %,in comparison to the grains creates pockets between the separate grains thus providing external absorbency. The material forms a free-flowing mass, which can be applied in pulp form with a trowel.
|
