PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tight binding tool capable of intensely and easily binding a packed body. SOLUTION: The tight binding tool 10 comprises a tight binding tool body 11 and an operating handle 21. The tight binding tool body comprises a pair of vertical legs 12 and 12, a lateral plate 13 connecting the pair of vertical legs 12 and 12, and a winding portion 15 arranged on a center portion of the lateral plate 13. The winding portion 15 comprises a handle support 16, and a pair of pawls 17 and 17 arranged via the handle support 16. Slits 18 and 18 are formed between the handle support 16 and the pair of pawls 17 and 17. After locking both ends of a string 5 gently wound to one direction of a package 1, the package is tightly bound by winding the string 5 around the winding portion 15 so that the handle support 16 is rotated around its center with the operating handle 21.
