PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent brake distance shortening effect from being reduced even if particles is sprinkled between a tire and the road surface during ABS control. SOLUTION: When M/C pressure is larger than a threshold value KP and a vehicle body deceleration is smaller than a threshold value KGB, an auxiliary brake ECU 12 operates particle spreader devices 6FL, 6FR relative to at least left and right front wheels 2FL, 2RR to spread the particles such as sand on the road surface. A target slip ratio in the ABS control of the wheel spread with the particles is simultaneously set and changed from a relatively small first value (for example 20%) usually used to a relatively large second value (for example, 50%). Thereby, the particles spread between the left and right front wheels 2FL, 2RR having the larger slip ratio and the road surface are caught in a wedge-like manner, brake force of the left and right front wheels is further enhanced by spike effect and further brake distance shortening effect can be exhibited.
