<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent bouncing of transfer paper conveyed out of a transfer device, thereby preventing disturbance of an unfixed toner image on transfer paper caused by contact of the trailing end of the transfer paper with a belt member in a fixing means. <P>SOLUTION: A toner image corresponding to a first image carrier 1 is formed on a second image carrier 10, and another toner image corresponding to the first image carrier 1 is formed on a third image carrier 40 via the second image carrier 10. The toner images are transferred to both sides of transfer paper P by a second transfer means 44 and a charger 45. The transfer paper P with the unfixed toner images held on both its sides is conveyed to a nip between the fixing rollers 30a and 30b of a fixing means 30, where toner on both the sides is fixed at the same time. At the time, a fixing entrance roller 30c supporting a pressure belt 30b is moved by a solenoid 30e in accordance with the type of transfer paper. Thereby, the angle at which the transfer paper P and the pressure belt 30d are conveyed in contact with each other is changed and bouncing of the trailing end of the transfer paper is prevented. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
