PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a suspension assembly of a low load being suitable for a compact hard disk drive, in a compact hard disk drive of low noise and low power consumption. SOLUTION: A suspension assembly 104 is constituted of a head arm 10 attached to a carriage rotation shaft 105, a load beam 20 giving a load to a magnetic head 3 and functioning as a beam, and a flexure assembly 30. The flexure assembly 30 is constituted of a flexure 31 formed of a metal thin plate, an insulation layer 32 layered on the flexure 31, a wiring pattern 33 layered on the insulation layer 32, and a protection layer 24 layered on the wiring pattern 33. The flexure 31 is constituted of a spring part 310 generating a load given to the magnetic head 3, a gimbals part 311 to which the magnetic head 3 is attached, and an attaching part 312 for the head arm 10.
